I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and I have a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling accredited by both the BACP and the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF). I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Although my main training is psychodynamic, I have also undertaken some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training and I can incorporate CBT where appropriate and useful for the individual seeking help.
I undertake regular training and learning as part of my commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
I have experience of supporting people dealing with bereavement and was a volunteer with Cruse for many years.
I am experienced in long-term and open-ended work with adults and also short-term and focused work with young people in a university counselling service.
I am a LINK approved Adoption Counsellor, registered to work with adoption issues as required by The Adoption and Children Act 2002 and related legislation.
